The Curchin Group to Hold Essay Competition to Determine Beneficiaries of Seventh Annual Miniature Golf Tournament for Charity

The Curchin Group, LLC, a mid-sized, full-service accounting firm based in Red Bank, New Jersey, announced today that it will hold an essay submission open to all 501c(3) organizations to determine the two beneficiaries of the Seventh Annual Curchin Open, a nine hole indoor miniature golf tournament for charity. Non-profits located in Monmouth and Ocean Counties are eligible to enter by writing a 250-500 word essay detailing the missions of their organizations and how the funds will be used for the greater good. Curchin's Partners will select the winners by June 30, 2012 based on the quality of the essay, the reputation of the organization and the proposed use of Curchin Open proceeds. Local charities can go to Curchin's Web site, www.curchin.com, to get details regarding the submission application anytime between May 8 and June 8, 2012 to enter. The application deadline is June 8, 2012.

Last year, with the support of over 35 corporate and individual sponsors and dozens of participants, the Sixth Annual Curchin Open raised approximately $12,000, with a total of more than $75,000 over the past six years. Curchin Partner Peter Pfister commented, "We have been honored to host the Curchin Open for the past six years and each year working with the local charities is such a pleasure. We are looking forward to holding this year's essay submission in order to find the selected charities and to begin our work together."

The event will take place indoors at Curchin's Red Bank office in early November 2012 and additional information about the date and time will be available in June 2012. Player fees are $20.00 per person, which includes one round of mini golf, food and beverages. All proceeds from the event will benefit the two locally-based charities that will be selected through the essay submission.
