The Curchin Group Raises $15,000 for Local Charities at
Ninth Annual Miniature Golf Tournament

RED BANK, N.J. (January 16, 2015) – The Curchin Group, LLC, a mid-sized, full-service accounting firm based in Red Bank, N.J., raised $15,000 for two local charities at its Ninth Annual Curchin Open Miniature Golf Tournament held on November 5, 2014. Clients, sponsors and friends played a round of miniature golf on a Curchin team-designed, 9-hole course that flowed through the firm’s office.

Player admission fees included a round of miniature golf, food and beverages. More than 40 business and individual sponsors supported the event, and additional funds were raised through the sale of Fantasy Scratch-Off cards. Peter Pfister, CPA, a partner at Curchin and chairperson of the event, remarked, “Our team looks forward to the Open every year, and we are always delighted to see our guests having as much fun as we are in support of such deserving causes. We remain deeply grateful for the ready and willing community generosity that makes the Curchin Open possible and successful.”

All proceeds from the event benefitedThe Samaritan Center at the Jersey Shore, based in Manasquan, N.J., and established in 2010 to provide clinical psychological services, coaching, mentoring, spiritual enrichment and educational opportunities for area families and individuals needing health and life direction support, and HABcore, Inc., based in Red Bank, N.J., and founded in 1988 to provide permanent housing and support to homeless families, veterans and individuals with special needs in Monmouth and Ocean Counties, helping them to move from crisis to stability. The two non-profit organizations were selected as event beneficiaries through an essay contest last May.

Since 2005, the Curchin Open has raised more than $120,000 for charities throughout Monmouth and Ocean counties. For information about how to get involved in next year’s event, please contact Peter Pfister at ppfister@curchin.com, telephone him at 732.747.0500 or visit www.curchin.com.
