Division of Taxation Mails ANCHOR Benefit Confirmation LettersAugust 17, 2023

The New Jersey Division of Taxation has begun mailing letters to taxpayers who received property tax relief benefits through the ANCHOR program last year will soon receive a letter that confirms their eligibility for the 2020 tax year and notification that they will not need to re-file an application to receive a check or direct deposit in most circumstances. The letters include detailed information on how recipients will receive their benefit this year including bank information. Benefits will automatically be distributed by November 1, 2023. If recipients need to change any information outlined in the letter, applicants must update their information in the online ANCHOR portal by September 30, 2023. Additionally, the Division will soon begin mailing applications to other taxpayers who may be eligible to apply for the program. These applicants will have until December 29, 2023, to file an application and benefits will be distributed within 90 days of filing.
