The Arc of Monmouth supports and empowers individuals with autism, Down syndrome, and other intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD) to live, work, and participate in their communities. The Arc serves 1,600 individuals in Monmouth County, providing an array of services aimed to help each person reach their goals, including:
In 1949, a group of parents came together to fill gaps in crucial services for their children with I/DD. They ran an ad in the local newspaper announcing that there would be a meeting at the Red Bank Borough Hall. The association that emerged from the meeting would grow to become The Arc of Monmouth.
Throughout its 70-plus-year history, The Arc has remained true to its mission to improve and enhance the lives of persons with I/DD and their families through services and supports, advocacy, collaboration with community partners and community education.
The Arc is committed to assisting people with I/DD to thrive in every aspect of their lives.
